New ReviewerI purchased a TX-NR727 from best buy 02/14. The item was an "Open Box" Sale Item.
I consulted with Best Buy and the assured me that it is still under the factory warranty. I set the unit up and Love It!!! Until 11/14 when I noticed that it was over heating. I noticed that the fan quit working so I immediately unplugged to prevent further damage.
I was reffered to Adams Repair to get the unit fixed. This is out of state and when i called the man on the phone was short with me, told me i was out of luck becuase it was an open box special, and eventually hung up. I have called Onkyo 3 times and typically takes an hour each time! (They offer to call you back while your on hold but dont fall for it!!!
It disconnected both times I tried to use this so i had to stay on the line. I have exhausted every option!! I have went from a customer who loves Onkyo ( I even bought my brother one for his birthday I was such a believer in this product) to the not so proud owner broken unit.
I know I can get someone in town to replace a fan it is just BS that this cost $700 and breaks less then 10 months later and they dont care. Please if you need a good receiver look at other options Onkyo does not care about there customers at all!!!!
